City Services and Bylaw Enforcement

The Reality

While service to residents by the City of Markham is good, it can be better. Most bylaws are enforced only when someone complains. Many residents are still learning English.

The Challenge

Responding to and prioritizing service requests is difficult. We need a more proactive approach to bylaw enforcement. Some residents struggle to take an active part in our community.

The Opportunity

Build a public online work order tracking system for all service requests
Increase publication of City information in the most common languages spoken in Markham
Hire more bylaw enforcement staff
